Shabbos Mevorchim Birthday/Anniversary Kiddush

March 2, 2019/25th of Adar I  If you, a family member or a friend will be celebrating a birthday or anniversary in the coming month, you can contribute $36 per birthday or anniversary to co-sponsor a kiddush in their honor. Fill out this online form, or email the office or call the office (973-669-7320 extension 1). Sponsorships are due by Tuesday night before Shabbos Mevorchim (Feb 26).

Technology and the Observant Jew

February 24, 2019, 7:30pm  Ohr Torah is pleased to have Jonah Ottensoser of the Star-K speak at Ohr Torah, Sunday evening, February 24, 7:30pm on the topic Technology and the Observant Jew. Mr. Ottensoser has been an engineering consultant with the Star-K for over 20 years. He has consulted with many of the large appliance manufacturers and it is partially thanks to him that we have the availability of so many “Sabbath Mode” appliances. Light snacks will be served at the end of the presentation.

Featured Speaker: Nechama Price

The Humanity of Halacha: Through the Perspective of a Yoetzet

Shabbat, March 2, 2019, after services Nechama Price, our community Yoetzet, will speak after shul on the topic "The Humanity of Halacha: Through the Perspective of a Yoetzet." NechamaPrice has been on the faculty at Stern College in the Bible and Judaic Studies departments since 2004. Prior to that, she completed the Stern College Graduate Program for Advanced Talmud Studies, received her Masters in Jewish Education from AzrieliGraduate School, and Masters in Bible from Bernard Revel Graduate School. She is also a graduate of the inaugural class of the American branch of Nishmat’sYoetzetHalachaProgram. She is serving as a Yoetzetin the communities of Englewood, Tenafly, Livingston, West Orange, Long Branch NJ, and Georgetown, Washington DC. She is also the Director of Yeshiva University’s Graduate Program in Advanced Talmudic Studies.
