High Holiday Seating Reservation Policy

The Seating Committee looks forward to working with Ohr Torah members to meet your desired seating preferences. The committee works with our Treasurer before processing your seating requests so please be sure your financial obligations to the shul are in order. We will be following these process/principles.

I. PRICING FOR SEATS:

  • $160 per seat for paid members (2021-2022 dues) in any combination of locations for all of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur
  • $110 per seat for paid members (2021-2022 dues) who need seats for EITHER Rosh Hashanah  or Yom Kippur (not both)
  • Prices are doubled per seat for non-members (will not be processed

Note: Seat purchases are required for children 10 years of age or older who will need seating in an adult minyan.

II. SEATING REQUEST DEADLINE:

In general, reservations will be processed on a first come, first served basis. However, if possible, preferences for specific seats will be given to those who held those seats in previous years. Although we will try to provide you with the seats that you request, we cannot guarantee that we can satisfy everyone. As in previous years, we ask that you review the Seating Charts and list your preferred seat locations in the form below.  However, please note that:

  • Once a minyan has sold out, we can no longer process requests for seating in that minyan even if you have davened there in the past.
  • We cannot guarantee the exact same seats or additional seats in the same row or possibly even in the desired minyan.
  • If we do not receive your seating request by Monday, August 16, your preference for prior year seats may not be honored. After August 16, we will honor requests for specific seats on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Non-member reservations will not be processed until after August 16, 2021.
  • The preferred method for seat reservations is through the shul website.
  • If using the paper form included herein, please remit your check to Congregation Ohr Torah at PO Box 6169, West Orange, NJ 07052.

In the event that the number of seats you require should change after your initial reservation, please let the seating committee know as soon as possible. If the number of seats you require decreases, the extra seat(s) will be reassigned by the seating committee on an as needed basis.

We ask for your cooperation in understanding the pressure faced by the Seating Committee. We wish you and your family a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year.

Thank you,
David Goldstein
